With more than 10 years of experience, Thirteenth Tiger Films provides expert consulting for the fantastic genre film industry. Our background in festival programming and film criticism, we provide consultation to festivals and filmmakers. We also develop and produce short and feature films.
Shelagh Rowan-Legg began her career working at various film festivals in Toronto, such as Toronto International Film Festival and Hot Docs Festival. She then attended University of Toronto, acquiring an M.A. in Cinema Studies. At the same time, she began programming for Toronto After Dark Film Festival, and writing for the renowned film website ScreenAnarchy (formerly Twitch).
In 2010, she moved to London to begin a PhD in Film Studies at King's College London. Her dissertation on genre film was published as a book in 2016 by I.B.Tauris, entitled THE SPANISH FANTASTIC: CONTEMPORARY FILMMAKING IN HORROR, SCI FI AND FANTASY. In her capacity as a festival programmer, and a film critic, she has attended festivals around the world, including Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalunya, Fantastic Fest, Fantasia, BiFan, MotelX, and Black Nights Film Festival. Now based in Canada, she is currently a Programmer for FrightFest, the UK's leading genre festival, as well as a Contributing Editor for ScreenAnarchy. She has appeared in several documentaries, including "From Romero to Rome: The Rise and Fall of the Italian Zombie Film" and "Me Me Lai Bites Back".
